Product overview

The QC family serves lighting panels, venues and equipment cabinets. Select channel count by circuit grouping, then match interfaces, load characteristics and installation space.

Functions and integration

Channel selection

QC4 has four IO channels, QC8 eight and QC12 twelve. Distributed cabinets can use separate smaller units.

Local and remote access

Local inputs coexist with network management for scenes, schedules and authorized operation.

Interface differences

QC4 and QC12 provide Ethernet and one RS485 port; the QC8 configuration has Ethernet, two RS485 ports and CAN.

Load coordination

The 50A latching relay designation refers to contact ratings. Match load type, inrush behavior and switching equipment to the circuit.

Applications and operating workflow

Small cabinets

Four-channel units serve a small group of circuits with local controls.

Central panels

Eight or twelve channels organize loads by floor, area or equipment group.

Selection and system combinations

Select QC models by circuit count for multi-circuit latching relay switching. Match integration, local inputs and loads to the exact model; compare QCL products for 4G latching control.

Product integration and applications

01

Choose channel counts for each area and cabinet

Use QC4, QC8 and QC12 for four, eight and twelve input/output channels, organized by floor, exhibition area, auditorium or equipment group. Compact units suit small circuit groups; larger units consolidate central panels, while distributed buildings can use separate controllers. Allow space for conductors, terminal access and networking, and align circuit schedules with cabinet and platform names.

02

Give local operators a defined input path

Wall buttons and compatible field signals work alongside network operation. Staff operate a room or zone locally while the platform organizes groups and schedules. QC8 provides Ethernet, two RS485 ports and CAN; QC4 and QC12 provide Ethernet and one RS485 port. Match panels, acquisition devices and supervisory links to the selected model, checking interfaces separately from IO channel counts.

Combine circuit commands with operating observations

A lighting upgrade can begin with zoning, local buttons and centralized switching, then add branch metering and feedback as management needs grow. The controller switches circuits, meters acquire energy and the platform relates schedules, access, operations and demand to the same zone. Match latching outputs to lighting drivers, contactors and inrush characteristics so control and power switching have clear roles.

Selection questions

Can QC4, QC8 and QC12 be used in one project?

Select channel counts separately for each zone, then organize the controllers by building, floor or equipment group. Each model retains its own interfaces, dimensions and wiring requirements.

Does adding energy analysis require replacing every controller?

Separate meters or multi-circuit energy modules can be added to the project. Keep switching and measurement as distinct functions and associate their data by area, circuit and operating record in the platform.

Frequently asked questions

How should QC4, QC8 and QC12 be selected?

Select mainly by circuit count and cabinet space. QC4 provides four inputs and outputs for small panels, QC8 provides eight for venues and medium lighting panels, and QC12 provides twelve for schools, campuses and centralized multi-circuit control. QC8 has Ethernet, two RS485 ports and CAN, while QC4 and QC12 have Ethernet and one RS485 port.

What is the difference between RC, QC and QCL?

RC models focus on local RS485 bus integration with PLCs, HMIs, industrial computers and gateways. QC models combine Ethernet and RS485 for LAN, platform and third-party integration. QCL models combine 4G and RS485 for distributed sites or projects without fixed broadband.

Does the QC family support MQTT and secondary development?

Yes. QC models can use MQTT, TCP and UDP for LAN software, servers and project platforms. Protocol and interface documentation can be provided for the selected model so circuit control, inputs and field logic can be integrated into the application.

Can the controllers connect to PLCs, SCADA or a private platform?

Yes. RS485 can connect PLCs, HMIs, industrial gateways and SCADA, while Ethernet can connect servers, IoT platforms and private deployments. The controller handles circuit switching and field inputs; the platform can manage groups, schedules, permissions, logs and remote operations.

Which loads are suitable for latching relays?

They suit lighting circuits, power switching and applications that need the relay state to be held without continuously energizing the coil. Match lighting drivers, contactor coils and motor-related circuits to rated current, inrush and protection. High-power or high-inrush loads can be switched through a contactor controlled by the QC output.

Can wall switches, sensors and meters be connected?

Wall buttons, dry contacts and compatible digital signals can use the controller inputs for local operation alongside remote control. RS485 sensors and meters can connect through a controller, gateway or platform according to the interfaces, protocol and hardware or firmware capabilities of the selected model.

How can an existing lighting distribution panel be upgraded?

First list the circuits, load types, inrush characteristics, protective devices and wall-switch wiring, then select QC4, QC8 or QC12 by circuit count. Install the controller in the panel, connect circuits and local inputs, and configure networking, circuit names, groups, schedules and permissions. Energy meters or multi-circuit acquisition modules can be added when energy management is required.
