Three-Phase and Branch Energy Metering Selection
Select meters by wiring system, circuit count, supply and current transformers, distinguishing main-circuit energy, branch acquisition and power-quality analysis.
At a glance
Application overview
Determine three-wire or four-wire distribution and the need for main or branch data. Treat device supply, measured voltage, current transformers and communications as separate selection items.
Functions and integration
Wiring system
Select the appropriate three-wire or four-wire configuration for the neutral and circuit design.
Branch acquisition
ZMSG1212-12S3 combines three-phase voltage with twelve current channels, mapped to the correct circuit phases.
Supply differences
The blue-housing RS485 meter uses 12V DC; ZMSG0101-SE6A3V uses 220V AC. Measured voltage is not the supply rating.
Purpose
Energy terminals support operating statistics; PQ terminals add harmonics and recording. Billing requires its own suitable metering design.
Applications and operating workflow
Tenant areas
Map points to circuits and use consistent reporting periods.
Factories
Use branch data for demand changes and PQ records for deeper analysis.

Frequently asked questions
Are twelve current channels twelve three-phase meters?
No. Channels are mapped to the three-phase voltage references according to circuit wiring.
Do all meters share the same supply?
No. Select the supply for the specific device model.
